Edo state governorship election holds today

The Edo state governorship election, which was earlier slated for September 10th, was rescheduled to today September 28th following security threats‎. The main contenders are APC's ‎Godwin Obaseki and PDP's Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Oyegun is a man of integrity - APC leaders

Support for the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun mounted on Tuesday  as prominent leaders of the party lauded his leadership qualities, describing him as “a man of honour, integrity and dignity”.

In a statement in Abuja by the Chairman of APC United Front, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa, the leaders described as laughable the calls on Oyegun to resign as chairman of the APC by Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his co-travellers, saying the world has seen a more progressive party under his dynamic leadership

Heartbroken dog dies after being hit by car in spot where she had waited for a year for owner to return (photos)

Loung, a loyal three-year-old Thai breed dog died after he was hit by a car in a spot where she had waited for 12 months for her owner to come back after falling from a vehicle in 2015.
Loung was fed daily by locals as she faithfully waited on the side of the road for her owner to come pick her up.

50 children raped in the state within the last four months - Plateau State Government

About 50 children have been raped in the state in the past four months alone, according to a shocking data disclosed by Plateau State Government:
"Our records show 50 recent cases of rape in the state. This is just within the last four months or so," Mrs. Rufina Gurumyen, state commissioner for Women Affairs told newsmen in Jos, ahead of the launch of the state initiative to End Violence Against the Children (EndVAC), later this week. The initiative is a national child protection campaign funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
