Pastor Adeboye's prayer which was shared on Twitter has started off a controversy on the social media platform.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) General Overseer's prayer centered on suspension of protocols, rules and criteria just like God did for Joseph.
"Father, let all protocols, rules and criteria be suspended, overlooked and overruled, as You did for Joseph, in order for me to be promoted, in Jesus’ name"
However some Nigerians felt the prayer encouraged nepotism, corruption and mediocrity. See reactions to the tweet below;

The Prayer is not bad oooo
Hmmmmmn this is serious
We want Nigeria to be prosperous and not just a few Christians. For a nation of 190 million to be progressive, we cannot depend on broken protocols. We need the system to work. However, if you are only concerned about yourself, keep praying for broken protocols.
The prayer point Is similar to “God qualify me where I am not qualified “

And what's the arguments about? Of course I love such prayers. Wait until you experience uncommon and undeserved favor, blessings, promotions and lifting up with a bit of hard work, then you will never fail to declare such in your life and family.
This is why we have unqualified teachers and personnel in many sectors... mediocrity over meritocracy... instead of praying opportunities to open in one's area of qualification you are for protocols to be suspended for the unqualified... God encourages and blesses hardwork not laziness!... Yet, RCCG will NEVER wed a pregnant lady... why not for once SUSPEND that rule or protocol?...

Everybody wants a miracle asap, so they dont even bother about the effects of their prayer points.
That was how protocols and rules were suspended in 2019 election. Now mediocrity is on the driver's seat.

Unfortunately, it is only in Nigeria every Tom, dick and harry seems to know so much about nothing. The man of God said the prayer for himself. If you like it, just like me, you key into it in prayer. In anycase, whilst some of us are saying the prayer vigorously, the antagonists can simply ask God for due process. It is by choice, NOT FORCE!!! Jobless Nigerian youths.
I pray God in His infinite mercy to let due process and meritocracy be enthroned in my country Nigeria, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Opinionated fools at it again. God can bend and change rules for you. It's called grace. Joshua prayed to God and the sun stood still, that means every other planet stood still, Joshua broke the protocol and rule of the solar system. Jesus walked on water. Jesus changed the molecular structure of water to suit him. Jesus turned water to wine. Jesus changed the chemical composition and broke protocol to suit him. Elisha ascended to heaven, hr change the law of gravity to suit him, he broke the law and bent protocol. Fools! What do you call a servant boy, who was slave and a prisoner tuned PM? Isn't that protocols and laws overlooked? It's called GRACE!!!! Fools. The thief on the tight hand side of Jesus was saved became of GRACE.
