The agreement comes two years after the series went off the air after 15 seasons on Fox.
ABC studios announced the deal on today's episode of the "Good Morning America" show.
The show will be scheduled sometime during the 2017-2018 television season, possibly on Sunday nights. It is unknown whether original host Ryan Seacrest will return as the host.
