How To Restore A Dead Laptop Battery

Laptop batteries are sensitive electronic devices that stores current when on charge and later on transfer the current to power the laptop when not on charge.

Over the years that laptops have been in existence, their battery has been one crucial element that no user will want to joke with. The battery serve as an alternative whenever there is power failure.

The battery serves as a soldier to the laptop and fight against interruption, loss, and damage of files when there is sudden power failure. Unlike the UPS that is attached to the desktop computer.

Normally, laptops battery has a life span (i.e they have a period of expiry). When that period elapse, you will find out that your laptop battery will be showing a message telling you that “your battery life is low and it needs replacement that you should visit some sort of websites to see more details”.

This very period, you need to fix it before it goes totally dead. Follow the below instructions to get it fixed:



1. Put the dead laptop battery in a sealed plastic bag as seen in the image above.
2. Put the bagged battery in the freezer for about 12 hours.
3. Take the bag out of the freezer, and let the battery warm up to room temperature, drying it occasionally with a towel if it appears damp.
4. Put the battery back into your laptop.
5. Charge the battery as much as possible, then leave the laptop on in order discharge it completely. Repeat this step 3-4 times.
6. Your formerly-dead battery should now be much more usable, if not totally restored.
