Niger Delta: Military will abide with the FG's ongoing negotiation effort with militants

In a statement released by the Defence Headquarters, the authorities have re-emphasised that the military will abide with the ongoing negotiation effort of the Federal Government with militants in order to have peaceful settlement of the Niger Delta problem.

However, while trying to achieve this feat, the military has warned that it would not tolerate "any individual or group taking its good gesture of adherence to ceasefire and peaceful disposition to the impasse for granted."

Today is the 4th year death anniversary of Aluu 4 victims

Exactly today October 5th in 2012, Ugonna Obuzor, Toku Lloyd, Chiadika Biringa, and Tekena Elkanah, all students of the University of Port Harcourt were lynched after they were falsely accused of being thieves in Aluu, a community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Three of them had escorted one of their friends to go settle a debt with someone who lived in the nearby village of Aluu. In the cause of settling the debt, a misunderstanding ensued which turned into a fight and the debtor started screaming, claiming that the boys were thieves.
