The Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room, a coalition of civic groups
dedicated to monitoring and improving the electoral process in Nigeria,
has described the Edo State gubernatorial election as "largely peaceful"
marred with incidents of "inducement and vote buying".
While commending the high voter turnout, the group noted lamented that
