Authorities arrest man responsible for Washington Mall shooting that left 5 people dead

After an overnight manhunt, police have arrested the young man responsible for the shooting that left five people dead at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington. According to reports, Turkish immigrant Arcan Cetin, 20, is suspected of killing four women and a man on Friday night.

Boko Haram leader, Shekau releases new video, claims he's "in a happy state, good health, and in safety"

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau released a new video message in which he denied a claim by the Nigerian Army that he seriously injured in air strike. The military said that Shekau had been badly injured last month in an air raid in which dozens of the Islamist group's commanders were killed. In the 40-minute video, Shekau spoke in Arabic, Hausa and Kanuri language, saying: "Oh tyrants, I'm in a happy state, in good health and in safety," Watch the video after the cut...

I’m Ready To Face Probe – Emir Sanusi

The Emir of Kano and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, has declared his readiness to face investigations into his tenure at the top bank.

Emir Sanusi’s comments came as a response to a call by Femi Falana (SAN), urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate alleged “diversion” of government funds by the CBN, while Sanusi was in charge of CBN.

I’ve just received a call from a businessman who believes so much in Buhari but feels the man has been encircled by desperate political jobbers who are not bothered whether he fails or succeeds. They are only interested in the allure and lucre of power, he says and he may not be far from the truth.

I wish to say categorically and with all emphasis at my command that Buhari government is flailing. And only the ubiquitous hypocrites and cheer leaders would fail to say it as it is, that the grunts of the people are fast turning into deafening lamentations.
