Photo: Lagos High Court sentence man to 5 years imprisonment for N10.5 million fraud

The Lagos State High Court presided over by Justice Kudirat Jose on 21 September, 2016 convicted and sentenced one Michael Ugochukwu to five years imprisonment on a one count charge of stealing to the tune of N10,500,000 (Ten Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) property of Patrick Ekeh.

Terror attacks are 'part and parcel of living in a big city'- says London mayor Sadiq Khan (video)

Sadiq Khan, the new Mayor of London, who's a Muslim has claimed that constant terror attacks are to be expected if one lives in a big city such as New York, London, Paris etc. Mr Khan, who was elected as Mayor in May to replace Boris Johnson told the Evening Standard:
'It is a reality I'm afraid that London, New York, other major cities around the world have got to be prepared for these sorts of things.

Nigerian special police squad get rich torturing detainees and demanding bribes in exchange for freedom - Amnesty International

A shocking new report by Amnesty International has accused a special Nigerian police unit set up combat crimes of torturing detainees in its custody as a means of extracting confessions and lucrative bribes.
The human rights campaign group said in the damning report published on Wednesday, September 21, that former detainees said they had been subjected to horrific torture methods, including hanging, starvation, beatings, shootings and mock executions, at the hands of corrupt officers within the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Photo: Two male drug traffickers arrested at Lagos airport

Two male drug traffickers, Okonkwo Francis Okechukwu, 44, and Ifedigbo Chinedu Lucky, 37 have been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for trafficking 700 grammes of powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine  at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

Jacksonville burn survivor's pregnancy photos goes viral

Jacksonville burn survivor and motivational speaker Andrea Grant shared photos from her maternity shoot with photographer Terrence Armand and in 24 hours, it went viral. "I really didn’t think that was the response that was going to happen, but I’m honored," she said.
Grant’s scars featured in the photo have a tragic and inspirational story. On August 14th, 2001, at age 9, she and her brother,11, were badly burned in a house fire, the result of a gas explosion.
