Sadly many in the conservative core north remain unconvinced. For example the Arewa Consultative Forum issued a statement on the 7th August in which they stated their total opposition to restructuring and instead of offering an olive branch of peace and understanding to its advocates who are predominantly in the south they issued the usual warnings of dire consequences if the matter is pushed too far.

Graphic photos: Suspected militants disguised as mourners kill three soldiers in Nembe, Bayelsa

Suspected militants killed three soldiers and carted away arms and ammunition in an ambush in Nembe city, Nember Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, on Monday, August 8th.

 

The gunmen also made away with military gunboats, after they sacked the operatives of the JTF stationed at the checkpoint in the waterways of the state.

Those blaming PDP for the state of the nation are hypocrites- party caretaker committee chairman says

Chairman of PDP caretaker committee, Ahmed Makarfi, has said that those blaming PDP for the current state of the nation are being hypocrites. Makarfi said this while speaking during an interview with Channels TV this morning.

"When I look at those who blame our party I laugh. Most of them were only in PDP just before the election. They should rather say they are blaming themselves. If you have been in PDP sixteen years and then because you want to win election you jump ship and join another party and then start castigating This hypocracy in our politics will not take us anywhere. Yes we made our own mistakes but we also recorded successes" he said
