Nasarawa government traces 74 contacts of lawmaker who died of Coronavirus; imposes total lockdown over rise in casess
The Nasarawa State Government has traced 74 contacts directly linked with the late Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) Adamu Suleiman Ibrahim, who died from complications related to coronavirus last week. 

A total lockdown has also been imposed on Nasarawa Local Government Area, hometown of the late lawmaker.

Governor Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule announced the precautionary measures during an expanded meeting to review measures put in place to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state on Tuesday May 5. 

He said; 

“Our team is currently in Nasarawa taking samples of all the members of his family.
“The 74 contacts are all in Nasarawa and has nothing to do with the contacts he had at the assembly.”

Sule also revealed that samples of close contacts of the lawmaker who are considered high risk, has taken for Coronavirus tests. 

The House of Assembly had been fumigated by the state government which also added Keffi to its list of high risk areas, because of the number of positive cases isolated at the FMC Keffi.

The state's State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana also announced lifting of the lockdown in Karu Local Government Area. Abubakar who stated that aim of the lockdown has been attained, however added that an 8pm t0 6am curfew has been imposed in the local government area in place of the lifted lockdown. 

Nasarawa state has so far recorded 12 confirmed cases of Coronavirus.
