You don't need any special activation before you can do this as it is activated automatically. This services is open for all MTN subscribers and customers and it requires the sim you  use in banking that is the sim you use to register your bank account and receive transaction alerts on. Without wasting time follow the step by step instructions to buy data from your bank account.

How can i buy data from my bank account?  

To buy data from your bank account you need to dial *904#. Then follow the prompt instruction on the screen. You can subsequently buy directly by dialing *904*Amount#. You should bear in mind that not all banks support this and you should always use a supporting bank for smooth operation. Some of the banks that's in support are Zenith Bank, Diamond Bank, Stanbic Ibtc Bank, FCMB, Fidelity Bank, First Bank, Access Bank, Union Bank, UBA, Skye Bank and Keystone Bank. This banks have their own specific daily restriction.

If you are lost on the way or confused you can follow the below instructions:

1. Dial *904*amount#, you will then get a list of banks to choose from, choose your preferred bank account you want to purchase the airtime from.

2. You will be asked to input the account number, after filling the account number tap the second button.

3. After that you will be asked to input your pin and confirm it. This pin will be the what you will use in all your transactions.

4. Once you are through with the steps, your mobile number will be credited.

Can i buy data for other sims card?

You can buy data for other sims being other sims you owned, the one for friends, family or loved ones.  To do this you have to

1. Dial *904*Amount*phone number of the third party#

2. You will be asked to choose the bank where you will be charged from.

3. You will be notified to input your pin, after this your mobile number will be credited while your bank account will be debited.

You can also purchase data using the *904# USSD code.  To do this simply dial *904*131# and you will be provided with data bundle menu to choose from. A list of bank will be given to you to choose from, after choosing your desired banks you will be asked to input your pin to complete the transaction.
