Aliyu Suleiman, the corps member shot during the clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and the police in Abuja has been discharged from hospital.
Narrating how he got shot in the clash that claimed the life of another NYSC member and Channels TV reporter Precious Owolabi, Aliyu said;
”We heard gunshots close to us, while our driver was about to turn, I couldn’t feel my arm, it was then I realised that I was hit by a bullet and I immediately notified my CDS Officer, Mrs Adama Anabel, who called the attention of the NYSC-FCT Management on the incident.”I thank God, NYSC, NYSC-FCT Governing Board and National Hospital Abuja for coming to my aid and for the free medical treatments received.”
It was further learnt that before leaving the National Hospital in Abuja, the Chairman NYSC FCT Governing Governing Board Hajiya Safiya Umar who was represented by Director of Youth Development Mrs Hajarat Ayandele, visited the violent clash victim and presented a token for his welfare.
