This Chapecoense plane crash survivor doesn't know his teammates are dead (photos)

One survivor of the tragic Chapecoense plane crash has no clues as to what happened the tragic day their plane crashed and most of his teammates died.

According to New York DailyNews, Helio Hermito Zampier Neto, a 31-year-old defender for the Chape soccer team and one of six survivors from the crash, remains in hospital with serious injuries.

He has asked hospital visitors about his teammates and how the team placed in the Copa Sudamericana finals, specifically in their game against Colombian team Atletico Nacional. However,
questions regarding the fate of his teammates are going unanswered.


An overwhelming 19 of Neto’s teammates and 52 others died in the Nov. 28 plane crash, including 20 journalists set to cover the team.

A psychiatrist from the hospital that Neto is currently being treated at says he believes that it is best for Neto’s mental health if he not be informed of the tragedy.

The goal being, “to avoid any emotional shock that would be potentially damaging for his clinical recovery at this moment
