Mile 12 crisis: Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso secures the release of 72 northerners, gives them money.

Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso paid bail out money to the tune of N65,000 to secure the release of 72 northerners detained by police following the Mile 12 market crisis, during his last visit to Lagos about two weeks ago.
On Monday, he visited the released detainees and gave each and everyone of them a token sum of money as an empowerment to start a new life in a ceremony attended by high ranking officers of the Nigerian Police Force, the Hausa Traditional Rulers in Lagos, Leaders of the Mile 12 markets and their members along with the families of the released detainees.

He has also made arrangement for their transportation from Lagos back to their various states across the 19 northern States.

10 lives were lost, properties razed and 105 suspects arrested after an inter-ethnic clash between Hausas and Yorubas in the Mile 12, Ketu area of Lagos, earlier this year. The conflict reportedly started after an Okada rider injured a woman and refused to take her to the hospital
