How to check your Bank Verification (BVN) Number

I guess we all know about this BVN of a name if you don’t yet, its known as Bank verification number which is officially introduced by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) earlier this year 2015.

Immediately the after the introduction, all banks key into the plan thereby letting their customer’s aware of it and also telling them why they should do it. But unfortunately, some accepted it while others ignored it.

Then CBN issue a bank verification number deadline and also attached a ban of various bank accounts that does not do theirs. On hearing this, banks started accommodating more customers but not all are able to do theirs because of the crowd. Out of the little that are able to do theirs only little of them are given their BVN Number.

How to Get Started?  

·         Pick up your Sim that you use to register your bank account.

·         Make sure you have atleast N15 on it

·         Dial *565*0#

·         You will be shown your BVN Number    

Note:  This service is available to MTN, Airtel, Etisalat while Glo is yet to join the queue. You can give Glo a trial and see if it will work for you.

Update: Glo now works with BVN (bank verification number). Go check yours now.
